Academic mentoring is a globally recognized practice that supports the professional growth of new and early-career academics. In line with the Policy on Mentoring for Academics introduced by the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages has established the Faculty Academic Mentoring Steering Committee to promote a culture of collaboration, reflection, and professional development among staff.
The faculty officially launched its Academic Mentoring Programme for newly recruited staff members on 23rd September 2025 in the Faculty Board Room. All probationary and temporary lecturers attended this introductory session and engaged in this initiative aimed at enhancing teaching, research, and overall academic excellence.
