About the Project
What is FSSL News?

FSSL News is the official digital news portal of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages (FSSL), Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL). It serves as the central hub for academic announcements, campus events, departmental updates, research publications, and institutional milestones.

The platform was designed and developed by the Department of Information Technology, FSSL to modernise how the faculty communicates with its students, staff, and the broader academic community. It provides real-time news delivery, a searchable archive, a research journal platform, and a role-based content management system for faculty administrators.

This project is also a showcase of the technical capabilities cultivated within the Department of Information Technology — demonstrating what can be built and maintained by talent within the faculty itself.

Vision & Guidance
Direction Behind the Platform

The FSSL News portal was initiated and guided under the vision of the Department of Information Technology to build a sustainable, faculty-owned digital infrastructure — reducing reliance on third-party platforms and giving FSSL full ownership of its public voice.

"A faculty that communicates well, grows well. This platform is our step toward a more connected, transparent, and digitally confident FSSL."
