On the 19th of April 2023, the Student Circle of the Department of English Language Teaching organized a thought-provoking and heartfelt discussion titled "Adulting: Navigating the Journey to Adulthood." Held via Zoom, the session brought together students and lecturers for an open conversation about the realities, challenges, and unexpected lessons of growing into adulthood.
The discussion featured three inspiring guest speakers from the department, Dr. K.S.N. Prasangani, Ms. U.B.A.H.N. Perera, and Ms. A.D. Maxworth, who each brought unique perspectives and personal stories to the virtual table. From managing responsibilities and making independent decisions to finding balance and purpose in life, the speakers touched on topics that deeply resonated with the student audience.
This event created a warm, relatable, and reflective space for participants to think about what it really means to ‘adult’ in today’s world. It reminded everyone that while adulthood comes with its share of pressures, it's also a journey of growth, resilience, and self-discovery.
