Workshop on Student Counseling
A workshop on “Student Counseling”, organized by the faculty of Social Sciences and Languages was held on 21st of April, 2021. Mr. Bimal Rajakaruna a well-known counselor and an expert in Human Resource Development conducted the workshop as the resource person.
The main objective of this workshop was to provide the academic staff members of the faculty, with an adequate knowledge and awareness on mental health and counseling, enabling them to assist students with psychological issues at the university. It gave the participants essential knowledge and practical skills to identify students with such difficulties and to support them in the best ways possible to continue their education, assisting and helping them not only as academics but also as professional, trained student counselors.
The workshop was organized by Ms. R.P.S. Hemalatha, Mrs. N.S.Jayathunga and Mrs. A.H Lareena from the departments of Economics and Statistics and, Languages. The workshop was organized under the AHEAD project. All the academic staff members of the faculty participated in the event. The workshop was held at the Academy of Adventure, Kumbalgama
