The Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) Project โ€“ IGnite (Inclusive Green Education for Bridging the Gaps in Higher Education and Career Development) was successfully held, bringing together national and international academic excellence.

Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka is honoured to be a partner university of this prestigious international project, led by the University of Colombo, in collaboration with : University of Peradeniya, University of Zagreb, Croatia, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The inaugural session was graced by Vice Chancellor โ€“ Prof. M. Sumil Shantha, Registrar & Bursar โ€“ Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Vice Chancellor โ€“ University of Colombo, Deputy Vice Chancellor โ€“ University of Peradeniya, Prof. Rohan Abeywickrama โ€“ Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences & Languages, Consortium representatives from all partner universities.

The IGnite Project aims to strengthen inclusive green education through a pioneering online BSc programme in Sustainable Regional Planning and Climate Resilience โ€“ addressing access to higher education, employability, and climate resilience in Sri Lanka.

This Erasmus+ initiative fosters meaningful collaboration between Sri Lankan and European universities, promoting innovation, capacity building, and sustainable education.

The kick-off meeting marks a significant beginning towards curriculum development, institutional capacity, and long-term success.
