We are delighted to announce that Mentoring Session IV: “Student Wellbeing and Mentoring” organized by the Faculty Academic Mentoring Steering Committee for Newly Recruited Academics was successfully conducted on 15th December 2025 from 5.00-7.00 p.m, at Skill Development Centre, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages.
We sincerely thank Prof. W. M. J. Welgama, Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, for serving as the Resource Person. His insightful and inspiring presentation provided valuable guidance on effective mentoring practices and practical strategies to enhance the wellbeing of undergraduates. The session was highly engaging and greatly appreciated by all participants.
The session commenced with a welcome address delivered by Prof. G. R. S. R. C. Samaraweera, Coordinator of the Faculty Academic Mentoring Steering Committee. The event was also attended by Mrs. K. B. P. C. A. Wijerathne, Secretary of the Faculty Academic Mentoring Steering Committee
We also extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. Rohan Abeywickrama, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, and the Assistant Registrar of the Faculty for their valuable support and facilitation in making this event a success
