The academic staff and student representatives of the BA Degree Programme in Translation Studies, Department of Languages, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, had the privilege of participating in Translation Day 2025, held on 14th and 15th October 2025 and organized by the Department of Translation Studies, University of Jaffna.

The two-day programme featured a diverse range of activities, including an exhibition, academic discussions, cultural performances, and student presentations, all of which explored both the theoretical and practical dimensions of Translation Studies. These activities provided participants with valuable opportunities to engage with contemporary trends, emerging perspectives, and practical applications within the discipline.

The guest speech was delivered by Prof. Manoj Ariyarathne, Professor in the Department of Languages, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, focusing on current developments and future directions in the field of Translation Studies.

The event served as an important platform for students and academics to exchange ideas, engage in scholarly dialogue, and further strengthen inter-university collaboration in the fields of translation and language studies. Participation in this event also provided an opportunity to enhance academic networking and foster stronger institutional ties between Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and University of Jaffna.
